Why I Became An Executive CFO Coach
My Story

In 2004 I took on my first financially distressed corporate turnaround as Chief Restructuring Officer. After a year of struggling with creditors, banks, management, and even the Board, we had no option other than to call in the bankruptcy attorneys. I remember my last evening with the company while sitting in the shipping office reflecting back on our efforts…pitch black outside…rain coming down. It was a truly difficult situation given that the company was on life support, but that didn’t cushion the failure that I felt in how I felt I “let everyone down.”
My main goal was to save the jobs of the 135 employees who sweated daily for the success of the company, but I couldn’t make that happen. I was professionally and personally devastated.
As I reflected back, I soon realized that the missing piece was my own fault. I had taken on a difficult situation without the wisdom and experience of a mentor…a coach to discuss options with…to gain guidance from someone who “had been there”…and to use their learnings as a catapult for success. I went “Lone Ranger”.
I immediately began consultations with 2 mentors of mine, taking copious amounts of notes, lessons, and examples. In my first discussion with a mentor back on that night, he mentioned “I feel your pain.” He had been there before. I will always remember that moment.
I changed my processes to include these lessons, and often discussed situations with both mentors. I did this for over 12 years through a myriad of successful turnarounds as both CEO and CFO. I continued to take notes and mental images of the numerous experiences. This is where I found a passion for coaching business executives.
Simply stated – I feel your pain. Everyday life includes business stresses, home life, Covid, cash flow, working from home, tight deadlines, etc. I understand what you are experiencing because, well, I was there for many years. I want to use my experience and training to guide you in addressing your dilemmas and catapult you to freedom.
These learnings form the structure under the Next Level CFO Coaching Program. Certification under the John C. Maxwell Coaching System and Virtual Coach ensures that this experience can be applied and tailored to your specific situation.
This system is proven, tested, and refined for others that have experienced success. Now I want you to have that success.
